You are an adult, and you do not need anyone's approval any longer.  This is an issue that alot of people on here deal with.  It is your life, and you are doing this for you.  To make you more confident, and to feel healthier.  To advert any potential problems with your health that may occur in your later years.  This is for you, not your mom, not your sister, not your brothers or anyone else.  You will reap the benefits of this surgery and you have an entire family on here that will be here to support you all the way.  Keep that in mind.  Keep in mind, this is a major surgery so don't expect to be doing back flips when you get home. You will need to take an easy!

Hugs and love, Diane

Good Morning All....

Today will be our 7th day in a row of 100'+ heat here in the central valley.   Just commenting, not complaining....'cause I love the heat!!

I saw on our news this morning that some fellows up MoMo's way baked chocolate chip cookies using their car as an oven.  Youch!!!!   Please everyone, don't leave children or pets in your vehicle even for just a few seconds!!!

And they didn't tell me???????????  Dayam, I must be out of the loop!  And I am the CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE QUEEN up here.  I start baking and the kids / joe's friends just start crawling out of the woodwork.  I don't even have to say a word!

Hey Chris,

Here is another little trick for the ant situation.  Get some boric acid powder and sprinkle it along window sills and door jams, really anyplace the ants can get in.  They won't cross the powder.  I came here from Florida and in Florida we have horrendous ant problems and someone told me to try it and darn if it didn't work.

Hi Chris and the rest of Cali, of course.

I'm sitting in the Learning Resource Center (LRC) at school. Why can't they just call the place the library? I mean, that's what it is, right? *sigh* I guess new technology breeds new names. Everyone's evolving, I guess.

Today starts my third week of my Astronomy class on campus. It's been going really good; and while I would like to say I'm getting an A, I'm not But it's okay, because it's freaking HARD, and I *am* getting a B. So far, anyway. Two more mid-terms and a final to go, plus craploads of homework.

So there's this guy Justin in my class. He appears to be almost completely disabled; in a wheelchair, can't really move his arms and cannot talk. He's sharp as a tack, though - he has this machine that sits on his lap, and he hits the buttons and when he's done the computer says the sentence for him. He says the funniest things! Anyway, here's my dilemma. He has a note taker for the class, and she is nice enough; but when the teacher is lecturing, sometimes she'll leave and miss five or ten minutes. Now, I know that Justin notices this too, although he can't say anything (I don't know if he would, even if he could).

I take notes like crazy, both in lecture on on the reading. Should I approach him, separate of his note taker and offer him a copy of my notes? Should I say something at all? Or should I keep my nose to myself? I'm so confused. Justin's the nicest guy, and I hate to see him not afforded every opportunity to get an education that I have.

Anyway, I hope you guys have a better perspective on this than I do...

Why note be nice Paula.  Even if you just make the offer and he doesn't accept it, he will appreciate the offer..  What a kind considerate thing to think of.

Keep me posted...I'm nosey!

Well today finds me really really tired and with a bit of the runs.  Im guessing this could be normal 4 days out from surgery.  More of my gas bubbles are gone but enough are still here to be bothersome.  So Im just gonna let my body rest today as much as it wants to and get my fluids in  between naps.   If the runs get too bad, I'll call the surgeon and see what I can take.
Im staying in doors with the AC with this heat, I really don't care for it much.

Hope you all have a great day!

Hugs,

Jackie

Chris, I would DIE if I found ants in my bed.  It happened to me once, it was at a Holiday Inn Express in Modesto.  I thought I was going to freak out.  I hate bugs, any kind of bug, but to have to share a bed with them,,,forget about it!

The vinegar thing seems to be working.  I went downstairs this morning and there were several walking around on the kitchen counter.  I washed everything down, and refilled the vinegar containers, I went and checked about 30 minutes later and there were a couple of dead ants in there.  They were dead, none were doing the backstroke.

Anyway, I had friends over yesterday, they brought me a BIG thing of Chili, i got enough for a couple of days, and that is with some of the best cornbread I have ever had.  The rest of the time, I spent with NASCAR and me sitting on my butt, tending to the damn farms on Facebook!  Other than that, nothing else went on....sucks, I am bored and they need to get one with this surgery, I am losing my saniety.

Have a great week.

Love to all, Diane

Good Evening Chris and Cali!

I dont have much to say cause i think my brain just turned off and its time for bed ( i get up at 2am!).

Well I was going to suggest using chinese chalk to get rid of the ants but when I tried to pull up a link to show what it is I found out that its illegal in the US.  Dont know when that happened.  But it looks like regular chalk for kids.  You can imagine the trouble that caused.  Im sure you can find it somewhere.  One of my co-wokers brought some in last summer.  Dont know how long he had it though.

But another friend at work once told me that she sprinkles boric acid around the outside of her house.  but it you have kids or animals i dont think thats safe.

ok bedtime!

hope you all had a great monday!
